What is to become of The Alwyn Vintcent?

Hi. I've just joined, and was very curious to know a couple of things. How will the Vintcent get to Australia? What will she be used for once she gets there? What city is she going to? Do you find this valuable?

Hi Martin,

The new owner will have to reply to your questions and confirm the details. The current plan is to ship her to Australia. A safer bet than trying to steaml her! Her new port is yet to be confirmed but is likely to be in NSW or Victoria. She will be kept operational but not used as a pleasure boat.

Thanks for your story it was a good one. Although I did shudder when I read you ripped out teak tables and fittings to feed the furnace!

Cheers

Thomas

Has anyone heard anything about Gordon Bashford or the Alwyn Vintcent?

I thought he was responsible for buying the Falls of Clyde but I have since learned this was just a story.
