The Alwyn Vintcent is an old friend of mine as in a former life I used to manage the tug as an operational floating exhibit at the South African Maritime Museum.

Through my association with the Alwyn Vintcent I got hooked on steam. There are few more impressive sights than seeing her triple expansion engine in full throttle.

I'm very interested in the Alwyn Vintcent coming to Oz. It would be wonderful to see her sailing under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and hear her whistle again.

It would have been preferable for her to stay in South Africa but if takes an Aussie to save her; she is better here. Either way she stays under the Southern Cross.
